At last, Gene will be back in about a week's time.
At last, have finally settled Internet connection and cable TV connections - it was a project of nightmarish complexity as several accounts had to be moved, new equipment received etc etc.
At last, I can plonk down and have channel V on while I type/work.
At last, his study is set up.
At last, I am blogging at Himiko Court without having to warjack.
Erh, at last, I am blogging.
BUT of course, there are a few things that have decided to go pot as well.
For one, the coffee machine, that's been in storage for a year, has decided to act up. The grinder won't start and the technicians are only available to come next week, during the week.
In the day.
Right... with the hours I'm keeping at work, this is going to be a challenge.
Plus, my knee is really beginning to act up. Owww.
Plus, we just lost another supe at work, so will have to do night duties very regularly now.
And I have been rostered for National Day AND sundays the entire month of Aug.
This is going to be fun. *eeeps*
G's parents are just as anxious - they've laundered his entire wardrobe, yes they've ironed his jeans too, in anticipation of his return. And sunning all his pillows etc etc etc. (they were quite aghast when i told them he doesn't wear jeans anymore)
Oh, and they were about to take his new columbia pants to a tailor to make them shorter (!) and I went ... erh... so they say they'll hem them pants first rather than cutting the fabric...
Ok, I hope they don't do it, but how do you fight against parents who adore him so much and are so anxious to do everything up nicely for him?
Me? Think am anxious in another way. I had a strange dream of him really fit and thin last night. All flat abs and all. And very nicely tanned.
Erh, yes, he was shirtless. Hey, I can have dreams about my husband if I want to! Well, if they occur anyway. It's legit!
Ah, okay, its almost 6 pm - the day has just flown by with the 1001 things to do - off to bring mom and dad out for makan. Mom turned 62 on June 20 and Dad turns 72 on July 3.
- thanks for the tag (!) - but wha biangs, must go and wrack brains about it... I can think of a few right now. La Carbonara in Rome, and Coke Chicken in Chiang Mai. Maybe Bebek Betutu in Crossroads Cafe in Ubud, Bali and maybe lamb in Capetown... But erh... erh... The Iron Skillet's country fried steak not so happening the last time we stopped by a outlet in Wisconsin. Gotta go think. We've had culinary adventures galore. But, nowadays, am not v inspired by food at all.
I'll go think of an appropriate response to the tag. Till the next entry, bye!
